Wabi-Sabi, Wash, and While No One Is Looking by Alejandro Pintado
In Arde Gallery’s Abc we explore fundamental concepts of art and design, such as wabi-sabi, the Japanese aesthetic that celebrates beauty in imperfection and the authenticity of natural materials. We also highlight wash, a painting technique used by Francisco Toledo to create effects of transparency and softness in watercolor. Additionally, we present “While No One Is Looking” by Alejandro Pintado, a work where the overlay of circles and lines on a classic sketch creates a captivating contrast. These concepts offer unique perspectives on beauty, technique, and expression in art.
