Luis Carrera-Maul

Visual artist, curator and educator from Mexico City. He studied Visual Arts at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and at the Universität der Künste Berlin (UdK), and completed a master’s degree in Art Education at the Faculty of Arts and Design of the UNAM. His work explores material as an active agent and unfolds between Mexico and Berlin through research on territory, landscape and processes of erosion linked to ceramics and industrial waste.

He has exhibited at the Museo de Arte Moderno and the Museo Nacional de San Carlos in Mexico City; MALBA in Buenos Aires; CCCB in Barcelona; the Museo de Arte Abstracto Manuel Felguérez, the Museo Pedro Coronel and the Museo Francisco Goitia in Zacatecas; MUPO in Oaxaca; the Museum of the City of Mérida and the Museum of Art of Querétaro. He is the founder of Lagos – Studios and Residencies for Artists.
