A rigorous metaphorical approach. A humorous and introspective aesthetic. Joel Escalona is a Mexican designer, artist and creative director. Drawing references from personal experiences and different cultural inspirations. In his work, it is possible to find glimpses of his analytical and ironic personality, resorting to elements such as lyric and poetry as attributes that are in constant connection throughout his body of work.

Joel was the creative director at BREUER and Taller Maya, designing a wide range of products and establishing creative pillars for each one of the different businesses. His talent has led him to collaborate with renowned brands such as Design Within Reach, Roche Bobois, Opinion Ciatti, BD Barcelona, Tane, Pirwi, Nouvel, among others.

In addition to running his own studio, as of 2011 Joel manages NONO, a Mexican design brand dedicated to the production of interior design and custom-made furniture pieces.
