At Arde Gallery, we see interiorismo as a form of expanded curatorship. We don’t just select artworks and objects—we compose them to tell a story. Because a well-considered space can also be a work of art.
INSTITUTO ALLENDE | A place where art is studied, lived, and transformed
Founded in 1950, Instituto Allende is more than an art school—it is a cultural institution deeply rooted in the artistic identity of San Miguel de Allende. Housed in a 17th-century colonial mansion, its arched courtyards and open-air studios host sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, and visual arts programs that attract students from around the world.
It is a place of learning and exchange, but also of encounter and celebration: with a café, gardens, and views of the historic center, the institute has been a living part of San Miguel’s creative revival. Here, art is not only taught—it is lived and reshaped across generations.
INTERVENTIONS | When art disrupts, reveals, or transforms
In contemporary art, to intervene is not merely to modify—it’s to disrupt, to reframe, to activate. An intervention might alter a public space, subvert a familiar object, or insert an idea where none was expected.

At Arde Gallery, many works are born from that impulse: not just to exist within space, but to transform it.
