Silvino Lópeztovar
Silvino is an industrial designer from the Universidad Nuevo Mundo and has a diploma in automotive design. From a very young age he began to show his interest in drawing and the creation of contemporary forms. At first his vocation was the plastic arts, but once he discovered industrial design he was attracted by the forms that can be made with technology, and he always had the conviction that industrial design and art can merge.
He began his career designing large sets for new product launches in Madrid and Seville, Spain, at the Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City and for Canal 22, within his activities he also participated in performances with the Mexican musician Jorge Reyes and the plastic artist Byron Gálvez. Parallel to this he began to design furniture, taking as a philosophy the abstract forms from some insects or with sculptural asymmetrical forms always looking forwards to the future with the experimentation of new designs.
In his designs wind it takes place to suggest shapes is present, it is true that most of the objects he designs do not need to be aerodynamic because they will not face the speed, but the aesthetics of movement. He has participated in various exhibitions with his designs in Monza, Ravenna Italy, Design Forum in Helsinki, Museum of the University of Antwerp, Museum of Arts of Prague, Museum of the University of Seoul, Matadero, Madrid, Triennale of Design in Milan, etc.
In 2005 he designed the furniture for the David Ben Gurion park in Pachuca Hidalgo, cataloged as work of the year in the magazine Obras. In 2010 this furniture was selected in the II Ibero-American Design Biennial in Madrid, Spain, and in 2012 it was also selected for a design for children in the III Biennial. His work has been published in different media such as in the Advento catalog edited by Federico Motta Editore Spa, Italy.
