Carlos Aguirre is a visual artist whose practice exists at the intersection of design, architecture, and graphic arts. Over the course of more than four decades, he has developed a distinctive visual language that combines technical refinement and formal elegance with an ongoing exploration of materials, surfaces, and experimental processes.
Originally trained in design, Aguirre expanded his practice into contemporary art through investigations into collage, assemblage, and the graphic possibilities of unconventional supports and materials. His work is characterized by compositions in which lines, patterns, volumes, and textures establish visual dialogues that evoke both calligraphic writing, architectural plans, and the organic forms found in nature.

His recent works explore emerging urban visual cultures while reflecting on the relationship between architecture, materiality, and landscape. Through innovative materials and techniques, his pieces suggest maps of possible futures, where structures, surfaces, and architectural elements merge harmoniously with the natural environment. This hybrid vision between design and contemporary art has established Carlos Aguirre as a singular figure within the contemporary Mexican art scene.
